Dr. Carsten H. Meyer, MD, is a specialist in vitreo-retinal diseases. He went to medical school in Freiburg (Germany), Innsbruck (Austria), and Oxford (England) and obtained his medical degree from the University of Munich, Germany. Dr. Meyer completed his residency at the University Eye Hospital Luebeck, Germany and persued 1999 a 2 year vitreo-retinal research fellowship at the Duke Eye Center, Duke University in Durham. He returned to Germany and became an Assistant Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology, Philipps-University, Marburg, Germany. He was appointed at the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Bonn in 2006 and became a Professor of Ophthalmology in 2007. He is a board member of several ophthalmic journals and serves as a reviewer in more than 40 peer-reviewed journals. As of 2011 he became the head of the Department of Ophthalmology, Pallas Clinic, Olten, Switzerland.
