Hesham is a lecturer at the School of Pharmacy, University of Otago, New Zealand. He obtained his BPharm degree (Otago) in 2000 then worked as a clinical pharmacist for five years while doing a postgraduate diploma and a Master degree in Clinical Pharmacy. He joined the academic staff at the School of Pharmacy, University of Otago in 2005, first as a teaching fellow and two years later as a lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy and Drug Information while pursuing a Ph.
His research focus is on drug dose-individualisation through modelling and simulation. The focus of his PhD was on dose-individualisation of anticoagulants and on estimating, and the use of, paediatric fat-free mass in PKPD.
