I was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1973. I graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Seoul National University in 1996 and obtained Master degree and Ph. D. at the same department in 1998 and 2003, respectively. I entered Hyundai Motor Company R&D Center as soon as I had received Ph.D. to develop a small diesel engine installed in passenger cars. To study the impact of the diesel exhaust on the climate change, I went to Brookhaven National Laboratory and developed an instrument that could measure the light absorption from the diesel exhaust in atmosphere. After being back to my native country, South Korea, I am extending my knowledge to not only the environmental research but also the biotechnology as an assistant professor at the Korea University of Technology and Education.
Environment (Climate change, atmospheric aerosol), Optics (Instrumentation for measurement of light absorption, scattering, emission), Diesel engine development (Diesel exhaust soot particles), Biotechnology (Diffusion measurement for biomolecules), Nanotechnology (Nanoparticle generation by flames).
