Dr Patrice Lalive graduated at the University of Geneva, was trained in both Internal Medicine and Neurology and obtained his board of Neurology (FMH) in 2003. In 2002 he accomplished a research fellowship in Immunology (Prof. A. Fontana), University Hospital Zurich, with a project on remyelinating factors in the animal model of multiple sclerosis (MS). From 2003 to 2005, he started a second fellowship in the MS research center at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF; Prof. S. Hauser/Prof. C. Genain), working on biomarkers in MS.Back in the division of Neurology in Geneva in 2006, he obtained in 2007 his Privat-Docent (PD) and in 2009 his habilitation as “Chargé de cours (CC)”. He is a council member of the European Committee for Treatment and Research in MS (ECTRIMS) and a member of the scientific and the executive boards of the Swiss MS Society. He is now heading the Unit of Neuroimmunology and Multiple Sclerosis at the Geneva University Hospital and is leading a research group focusing on neuroimmunology.
