Biography

Dr. Mona is graduated in Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt (1983). Specialist in the Microbiology Unit, Clinical Pathology Department, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt (1986). Received a MD degree in Clinical and Chemical Pathology from the University of Ain Shams (1999), Cairo, Egypt (1999). She was a postdoctoral fellow at the Microbiology Unit, Clinical Pathology Department, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt (2000).
She is an Assistant Consultant in the Microbiology Unit, Clinical Pathology Department, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt (2005).
 

 
Research Interest

Mona research interest include diagnosis of air and water born diseases caused by viral and bacterial agents by molecular techniques as qualitative polymerase chain reaction, enzyme linked immunosorbent assay and tissue culture.

1. How many years have you been practicing and/or performing research?
Twelve years

2. What is the research topic you are working on now?
Identification of Chlamydophila pneumoniae in lower respiratory tract infection.

3. What makes an article top quality?
The techniques or the laboratory methods that used in detecting the causative agents of the disease

4. What are the qualities you look for in an article?
New subjects as recently discovered viruses, new molecular techniques or modification of an old one.

5. Do you have any research funding (NIH or other national funding) now?
No.

6. When did you become an editor of OMICS Journal?
On 2011

7. What is your greatest career accomplishment?
Degree of professor of Clinical Pathology on 11/2011.

8. How does the research published percolate through to practitioners?
Through websites.

9. What is the purpose of serving as an editor?
It gives me a chance to write in different topics of my interest.
