Dr. Shekhar Annambhotla, BAMS, MD (Ayu), LMT, ERYT, RAS,FAAS, BCIM, editor-in-chief, Journal of Homeopathy & Ayurvedic Medicine (JHAM), a classically trained registered ayurvedic specialist, licensed integrative bodywork & massage therapist, registered yoga instructor, certified pranic healer and certified reiki healer has been practicing and teaching ayurveda worldwide since 1988. Dr. Shekhar commenced his studies in Ayurveda at the age of 17 and earned the degree of Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.), a 5 ½ year program at Dr. N.R.S. Government Ayurvedic College of Nagarjuna University, Andhra Pradesh State, India. He continued his postgraduate studies, Doctor of Medicine in Ayurveda (M.D. Ayurveda), a 3-year course of study, from Government Akhanadanand Ayurved College of Gujarat Ayurved University, Gujarat State, India from 1988-91. He is a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, Licensed Integrative Bodywork and Massage Therapist, Certified Pranic Healer, Certified Reiki Healer and is also a faculty member of several Ayurveda schools and colleges throughout the USA and abroad. Dr. Shekhar received Fellowship in Ayurveda (F.A.A.S.) from Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America and also Board Certified in Integrative Medicine (BCIM) from American Association of Integrative Medicine, USA. From 1992 – 1994, Dr. Shekhar worked as a Associate Professor at N.K.J. Ayurvedic Medical College (Gulburga University), Bidar, Karnataka State, India. From 1994 – 2001, Dr. Shekhar got an opportunity to serve at Maharishi Vedic Schools and Universities in The Netherlands, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland, Great Britain, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Belgium, Trinidad, Guadeloupe, (West Indies), Jamaica (Caribbean Island), Canada, and the U.S.A. During his extensive travels, he delivered lectures and offered consultations on Ayurveda for health professionals and for the general public. He gave several newspaper interviews and radio talks on Ayurveda and was also interviewed on BBC’s Breakfast Television. Since 2002, Shekhar is the Founding Director of Ojas LLC, Ayurveda Wellness Center, in Pennsylvania, USA. He is also the Founding Director and President of Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America (AAPNA). Shekhar served on the Board of Directors for National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA) from 2005-2010. He has taught Ayurveda courses in many prestigious universities in United States including University of Pennsylvania (UPENN), University of Medicine & Dentistry in NJ (UMDNJ), Hershey Medical School, Jefferson Medical School and others. He is awarded “Tathagat International Excellence Award 2011” in Dubai and received award “Ayurveda Khandantara Sthapanacharya” for promoting Ayurveda around the globe. Ms. Monica B Groover is the co founder of San Diego College of Ayurveda, a virtual Ayurveda college providing NAMA approved courses. Salvatore CHIRUMBOLO was born in Nicastro (now Lamezia Terme) on February 01, 1964. He graduated summa cum laude in Biological Sciences at the University of Bologna (Italy) in 1990 discussing a thesis about the molecular genetics of bobbed locus in D. melanogaster. He joined since 1992 the Professional Association of Biologists of Italian NHS and in 1995 he gained the High Post-Graduated Diploma in Biochemical Chemistry (Ph.D.) with honors at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Verona. In 1997 he held the Viral Molecular Biology Laboratory (VMBL) as Biologist Chief Director at the ULSS 22 Regione Veneto of the National Health System (HSN) and in the year 2000 he held a managing as Health Chief Director in an important laboratory for human health analysis associated with HSN. Since 2007 he works at the Department of Pathology at the University of Verona as Technical Senjor Researcher. He teaches in the Master School of Laboratory Medicine. His main interest has concerned the investigation of basic research in homeopathy, the use of high diluted substances on immune cells, the cellular and molecular biology of plant derived compounds on inflammation, the cellular biology of basophils. From 2008 to 2009 he was a member of the Counsel of the Department of Morphological and Biomedical Sciences-University of Verona. Currently, he manages the Molecular Biology of Adipose Tissue in the Department of Medicine-University of Verona. He was awarded with three grants gained at GIC XXV Italian Congress on Flow Cytometry and in other two Congress as coauthor, Rome 2008 and Chicago 2009. He is a member of Italian Society of Chemical Pathologists. Professor Chen Jia-xu, MD, PhD, is native of Hubei, China. Dr. K. N. Sunil Kumar is working as Senior Research Officer in Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry at SDM Centre for Research in Ayurveda and Allied Sciences (Centre of Excellence of AYUSH and DSIR recognized SIRO) since 1st of June 2011. After B.Sc. in Pharmacognosy from Mangalore University in Karnataka in 2004, he did M.Sc. in Medicinal Plants, securing first rank, from IPGT&RA of Gujarat Ayurved University (GAU) Jamnagar in 2006. He specialized in Pharmacognosy by a research problem entitled ‘Pharmacognostical evaluation of Cinnamomum tamala (Buch. – Ham.) Nees and Eberm. (Tamalapatra) and few of its common allied species’. In July 2006, he was appointed as Senior Research Fellow in a ICMR project ‘Quality Standards of Indian Medicinal Plants and preparation of monographs thereof’ in Capt. Srinivasa Murthi Research Institute (CCRAS, M/o Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India), Chennai. Under the project, he worked on pharmacognostical studies of 50 medicinal plants, which have been published as monographs by ICMR in volumes 7 to 11 of book ‘Quality Standards of Indian Medicinal Plants’. He has completed PhD in Medicinal Plants from the University of Madras, Chennai on ‘‘Pharmacognostical, Phytochemical and Medicinal Activity Profile of Helicanthus elastica (Desr.) Danser (Mango Mistletoe) –Loranthaceae’. He has been honored with Principal Investigatorship of 15 lakhs’ project on standardization and preparation of monograph on Ayurvedic formulations sanctioned by Pharmacopoeial Commission for Indian Medicine. He is a Co-Principal Investigator of a UGC Major Research Project worth 8.87 lakhs on standardization of Ayurvedic formulations. He has been sanctioned with seed money of Rs. 5 lakhs for research on standardization of polyherbal formulations by VGST, Govt. of Karnataka under young scientist scheme. He has 23 research papers on pharmacognosy, phytochemistry and standardization of medicinal herbs and their products. He also has 45 monographs in ICMR books to his credit. He has presented papers in 10 national and international conferences. He has delivered demonstration of pharmacognostical, phytochemical and quality control aspects of medicinal plants as resource person in 2 National seminars on Ayurveda. Biography :

Dr. Sarker obtained his Ph. D. in Immunopharmacology from Okayama University, Japan; Master of Pharmacy (thesis)and Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons.) degrees from Janangirnagar University, Bangladesh. He has thirteen and half years’ experiences of teaching and research in Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Currently he is working as a Post-Doctoral Visiting Research Fellow and the Principal Investigator (PI) of a High Impact Research (HIR) project for antidiabetic drug research in type 2 diabetes animal model in the University of Malaya. Dr. Sarker has 25 publications in peer reviewed journals, and 15 popular articles on medicine and health aspects have been published in journals, magazines, newspapers, etc. Dr. Sarker has directly supervised several research projects and thesis of Bachelor’s and Master’s students of Pharmaceutical Sciences. He has widened his research collaborative activities with different institutions and researchers from the United States, Japan, China, Bangladesh, Iran, and Malaysia. Dr. Sarker attended several conferences as Invited Speaker. He is a reviewer and editorial board member of several peer reviewed international journals.

Biography :

Dr. M.Rajajeyakumar, MBBS, MD, MSc Yoga, CCEBDM (PHFI), PhD, is working as Assistant professor of Physiology at Chennai medical college hospital & research Centre (SRM Group) Trichy, Tamilnadu, India (Affiliated by Dr MGR Medical University, Chennai). He received MBBS degree from Tirunelveli Medical College and completed MD Physiology, under the guidance of Dr.Madanmohan & Dr.J. Balachander (2006-2009) at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER- An Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India). He has been teaching Physiology for more than five years after obtained his Master Degree. He started his teaching career as a junior resident in the Department of Physiology, JIPMER (2006-2009). Then he worked as a senior resident (2009-2012) in the same department and research assistant in Advanced Centre for Yoga Therapy, Education & Research (ACYTER) Lab, JIPMER, collaboration with Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY). He did MSc yoga in Annamalai University and completed ISAK (International Society for the Advancement of Kin anthropometry Level 1 & 2 in the year of 2010-11). He had trained for recording & Analysis of bio signals of CMC dag instrument for Heart rate Variability (HRV) in Department of Bioengineering, Christian Medical College (CMC), and VELLORE- 2011. He had completed Certificate course on, Epidemiology in JIPMER (2011), Biostatistics SPSS Training& Sample size calculation at Christian Medical College (CMC), VELLORE (2010 & 12). He had completed the Basic Course on ECG Interpretation (2013) from Dr.Chenniappan’s ECG & ECHO Club of Trichy and Evidence Based Diabetes Management (CCEBDM), under Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), which was recognized by international Diabetic Federation (IDF) at Trichy diabetic centre (Dr.Shanmugavelu and Dr.Bosco) in the year of 2013-14. Dr. M.Rajajeyakumar has been actively involved in research. His special research experience is in Yoga, autonomic, cognitive, cardio-respiratory, neurophysiology and medical education. He had trained with basic Physiological procedures including human and animal experimental physiology; pulmonary function test (PFT), autonomic function test (AFT), HRV (heart rate variability), EMG (electromyography), & NCS (nerve conduction study) related research. He was expert with the recording of analogue signal output from the ECG machine is digitized by using an A/D converter from National Instruments .The HRV was analyzed by using the “HRV soft 1.1 Version” software package (built by using the Lab View software from Texas Instruments, USA) which was provided by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. He also familiarized with Power lab, bio harness & BIOPAC MP 100 system (BIOPAC Inc., USA) and the BIOPAC AcqKnowledge software 3.7.1 (BIOPAC Inc., USA, which is mainly used to record autonomic function test (AFT), &HRV (heart rate variability). He has published many papers in reputed national & international journals. Many post and undergraduate medical students who have performed research project of ICMR under the guidance of Dr. M.Rajajeyakumar. He is a life member of many national and international journals and scientific bodies. He is an expert reviewer and editorial board member for many national and international journals.He has been selected for Examiner and Question paper setting for various medical, paramedical & biomedical engineering undergraduate and post graduate courses. In addition to teaching, Dr. M.Rajajeyakumar has very good skill to organizing conferences and academic programmes. He is one of the resource person in Medical Education Unit for conducting basic Programme on Medical Education Technologies for faculties. He is the in charge of physiology departmental representative for ISO-9001& active members of writing systematic operating procedure (SOP). Recently, he has been appointed as Staff Advisor & Programme Co-ordinator of Youth Red Cross Society of Chennai medical college hospital & research Centre (SRM Group).

Dr. Pankaj Gupta completed his PhD from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India and is presently working as Assistant Professor of Pharmacognosy at K. R. Mangalam University, Gurgaon. He has published over 12 papers in reputed national / International journals and was the former Vice-Chairman of the Society of Young Scientists at AlIMS. He has been serving as the reviewer for various journals such as Pharmaceutical Biology (formely known as the International Journal of Pharmacognosy). Dr. Ajai Prakash Gupta is a Senior Technical Officer in Quality Control & Quality Assurance at Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, (IIIM-CSIR). He did his PhD. from Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Faizabad in 1998 specialization in Organic Chemistry. He also did his M. Sc. from Kanpur University in 1989 specialization in Organic Chemistry. He is one of the Life member of “National Magnetic Resonance Society”, “Essential Oil Organization of India”. Also the Editorial Board member for the Journal of Management Studies. He has total experience of 24 years, and a 20 years’ experience in Research field.
