He was graduated from Tokyo College of Pharmacy. AZer completing his graduate study, he worked on radioactive tracer in drug metabolism as a research assistant at Physical pharmacy department. AZer obtained PhD degree in Pharmaceutical sciences, he joined Dr. Lester Packer’s lab as a post‚Äźdoctoral fellow at University of California, Berkeley where he engaged in membrane bioenergetics research on halobacterial rhodopsin. In 1985, he obtained professor position and established radiopharmaceu8cal science lab at Niigata College of Pharmacy where free radical biology and molecular biological researches were developed. 2001, he engaged in establishing Food Science department in NUPALS and started food func8on study using an8oxidant tradi8onal oriental medicine formula as a food model. Current topics of his research are the food func8ons modula8ng DNA damage responses and aging, especially cell cycle checkpoint kinases and their applica8on in Complementary medicine in Cancer treatment. He published more than 150 papers in peer reviewed journal. He served as reviewer, editor of several scien8fic journals and for other social events. He has been chairing Interna8onal Niigata Symposium on Diet and Health since 2004.

Biography :

Luis Muehlmann is a Postdoctrate researcher at the University of Brasília, and partner/researcher at the Nanodynamics company. Muehlmann obtained his PhD in Health Sciences from the University of Brasília and graduated in Pharmacy from Federal University of Paraná. His research interests lie in the area of nanostructured delivery-systems for antineoplastic agents. In recent years he has focused on the development of new drug nanocarriers, mainly for anticancer photodynamic and photothermal therapies.

Biography :

Molinda Kearns received her BS in Biology from D’Youville College in Buffalo, NY, and her MS and Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Pharmaceutical Sciences respectively from the Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy of Long Island University. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Molecular Oncology and Pathology from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2011. As of now she is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Biology at Concordia College, NY. Her research interests revolve around the design and physicochemical characteristics of lipid based carriers of genetic constructs for use as parenteral formulations. She has conducted in-depth work on cholesterol derived genetic carriers and their cell membrane trafficking.

Biography :

Ken H. Young, MD PhD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Hematopathology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He was Medical Director of Hematology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and University East & West Clinic Laboratories, overseeing the laboratories at the University of Wisconin Hospital and Clinics Core Laboratory. He received his PhD from University of Lund School of Medicine and completed his MD training from Oregon Health Science University. He is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Hematopathology.
