Grant H. Skrepnek, Ph.D., M.Sc., R.Ph., is an Associate Professor with Tenure at The University of Arizona College of Pharmacy. He additionally serves as a Full Investigator within The University of Arizona Cancer Center (UACC), an Affiliate of the Arizona Water Institute, and an Investigator within the Center for Health Outcomes and PharmacoEconomic Research (HOPE), the Arizona Emergency Medicine Research Center (AEMRC), and the Venom Immunochemistry, Pharmacology, and Emergency Response (VIPER) Institute. Dr. Skrepnek received his B.S., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Pharmacy at The University of Texas at Austin, where he conducted research on the industrial economics of the pharmaceutical industry and completed his minor area studies in both finance and management.
As faculty at The University of Arizona, Dr. Skrepnek concentrates on health economics, policy, and outcomes research involving large-scale database investigations, decision analyses, clinical trials, and survey research. From a clinical stance, Dr. Skrepnek has focused on studying cost, quality, and access to care across various healthcare settings concerning oncology, cardio-pulmonary disease, rare conditions, and comorbidities. Furthermore, he is engaged in advancing the methodological approaches used within assessments of health technology, including the development of novel statistical procedures to evaluate health and economic data. His interests extend to policy issues concerning Medicare and Medicaid, industrial organization economics in the pharmaceutical industry, and financial econometrics. Dr. Skrepnek also studies practice-related aspects of healthcare which include reimbursement, academia, safety, patient compliance and adherence, treatment guideline implementation, disease management, and the use of technology by clinicians. He has received funding from numerous organizations and was a co-investigator within The University of Arizona\'s Center for Education and Research on Therapeutics (CERT) funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).
