Zhiwei Xu, Ph.D, is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Computer and Information Science at the University of Michigan - Dearborn. Zhiwei Xu received his B.S in Electrical Engineering in 1994 from Wuhan University of Technology, China and his MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1997 from Guangxi University, China. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering in 2001 from Florida Atlantic University. He was a Senior Software Engineer and Research Scientist in Motorola Software and System Research Lab - Network & System Research Lab from 2001-2007. He joined the Department of Computer Information Science at the University of Michigan-Dearborn in Sep. 2007.
The primary area of my research is software engineering, with a focus on investigating computational intelligence, data mining, and machine learning techniques for software quality and defect prediction.
