Research interests involved the modeling and simulation of solidification process related to the continuous casting, conventional casting, ingot casting and other materials processing technologies such as directional solidification of polycrystalline silicon with a hundred papers published in journals. Especially, the transient transportation phenomena and thermal plastic deformation of solidified steel were concentrated by using experimental and numerical methods such as Large Eddy Simulation (LES) and Finite Element Method (FEM). Advanced technologies such as electromagnetic brake and stirring (EMBr and EMS), dynamic secondary cooling control, dynamic soft reduction during the continuous casting were investigated to prevent the solidification defects such as macro-segregation, bulging and internal crack of strand.
