About the Journal

Aerobics can be defined as the form of physical exercise that combines stretching exercises along with rhythmic aerobic exercise. Aerobics are done for promoting physical fitness and preventing health illness. Fitness, in simple terms, can be defined as a state of good health and wellbeing. It is the ability of an individual to perform effectively and efficiently in various forms of work.

The Journal of Aerobics and Fitness is an open access and peer reviewed journal, aimed at providing complete and effective knowledge about the various forms of stretching and straining exercises, cardiovascular activities, proper nutrition, warm up, flexibility, rest, etc. by publishing articles, review papers, short communications, etc.

The Journal of Aerobics and Fitness deals with all the aspects of aerobic exercises and fitness like aqua aerobic, brain aerobic, exercises during pregnancy, cardio exercise, respiratory endurance, aerobic dance, health fitness, metabolic rate, active life style, steroids and fitness, roles of protein in fitness, weight loss plans, etc.

For quality publication, the journal process through Editorial Management System. Editorial Management System of Aerobics and Fitness journal is an online manuscript submission system which reviews and processes the articles and review papers; at least two independent reviewer’s approval is mandatory followed by editor approval is required for acceptance of any citable manuscript. Authors can submit their manuscript and track its progress through this system. Reviewers can download manuscripts and submit their opinions to the editor. Editors can manage the whole submission/review/revise/publish process.

Respiratory Endurance

Respiratory endurance is the ability of the human body to perform prolonged exercises from medium to higher levels of intensity. It is an important part of overall fitness of an individual. In this process the heart and lungs try to absorb, transport oxygen over an extended period of physical exertion. Sometimes the term endurance is also referred to as respiratory stamina. It is an indication of potential or strength of an individual.

Cardio Exercise

Cardio exercise is any exercise that raises your heart rate. Here the entire body is made to move. We  know that to keep our muscles in shape we need move them. This movement makes them stronger and stronger muscles make for a more efficient and healthy body. It is the most preferred form of exercise for weight loss.

Aerobic Respiration

Aerobic respiration is the process of respiration that utilizes the oxygen taken from outside and releases the carbon dioxide to outside. In aerobic respiration molecular oxygen is consumed and carbon dioxide and water are produced. Aerobic respiration is the is the metabolic process of most living things in which food molecules (glucose) are turned into usable energy for the cell (ATP). During aerobic respiration, oxygen is present, and helps the process to crank out energy very efficiently. Some organisms can also undergo anaerobic respiration, in which oxygen is absent and a somewhat less efficient method of metabolism takes place.

Aerobic Metabolism

Aerobic metabolism is the process of extracting energy from the carbohydrate sources such as fatty acids, amino acids. As the body breaks down glucose, a simple sugar molecule, in the first dozen steps, it produces a compound called pyruvate. When this compound enters the mitochondria, or powerhouse, of the cell, aerobic metabolism occurs in which this compound is oxidized and turned into carbon dioxide and water. Aerobic (oxygen-using) metabolism extracts energy from carbohydrate sources, fatty acids and amino acids. While glycolysis yields two moles of ATP from one mole of glucose, full oxidation of glucose by aerobic respiration produces ~30 moles of ATP.

Aerobic Exercise

Aerobic exercise also referred to as cardio is physical exertion of low to high intensity that depends totally on the aerobic energy-generating method. Aerobic virtually means that relating to, involving, or requiring free oxygen, and refers to the employment of gas to adequately meet energy demands throughout exercise via aerobic metabolism usually, light-to-moderate intensity activities that area unit sufficiently supported by aerobic metabolism are often performed for extended periods of your time.

Aerobic Dance

Aerobic dance exercise is any physical activity that makes you sweat causes you to breathe harder and gets your heart beating faster than at rest.  Aerobic dance strengthens your heart and lungs and trains your cardiovascular system to manage and deliver oxygen more quickly and efficiently throughout your body. Aerobic dance uses your large muscle groups, is rhythmic in nature and can be maintained continuously for at least 10 minutes.

Aqua Aerobic

Water aerobics also known as waterobics, aquatic fitness, aquafitness, aquafit is the performance of aerobic exercise in fairly shallow water such as in a swimming pool. Done mostly vertically and without swimming typically in waist deep or deeper water, it is a type of resistance training. Water aerobics includes water aerobics classes do traditional workouts in waist- to neck-high water in a swimming pool. While similar to land aerobics, in that it focuses on cardiac training, water aerobics differs in that it adds the component of water resistance and buoyancy.

Brain Aerobic

Brain aerobics are the kind of aerobics that are performed to keep the mental health well and helps to reduce the aging of brain activity. It helps to retain brain activity. Brain Aerobics Exercises provide options for brain stimulation and can help you obtain needed mental stimulation. Thirty minutes of challenging mental exercise every day is a key age-proofing strategy.

Kids Aerobics

Kids aerobics are the exercise movements that help to pump blood faster all around the body. It is very important for the kids and helps to build up health in the growing stages and helps to achieve good physical fitness. There are many benefits in aerobics for kids such as- Better heart and lung fitness, Lower levels of body fat, stronger bones and muscles, Fewer symptoms of depression, better chances of being healthy adults without chronic diseases.

Aerobics in Pregnancy

Aerobics in pregnancy are the exercises performed during pregnancy are beneficial to facilitate easy delivery of a healthy baby and also helps the mother to recover from the stress during this period. It helps to improve sleep, reduces swelling, backaches making labor easy therby releasing endorphins that makes the mother feel happy and energetic during the course of delivery.

Sport Aerobics

Sport aerobics refers to the competitive which originated from the sports such as gymnastics which involve high, complex movement patterns and other workouts that are performed to music. Sport aerobics include the sport acrobatics, rhythmic gymnastics etc. The performances depend on the dynamic strength, jumps, leaps, kicks, balance and flexibility.

Step Aerobics

Step aerobics is a form of aerobic exercise that is performed by making use of a step platform. It was introduced in 1980’s as a part of aerobic exercises and still in practice in gyms and health clubs. Step aerobics are an intense workout so there must be proper guidance to perform this workout. It usually consists of set of choreographed movements performed on the step platforms. It is done to work the lower body. There are many types of moves in step aerobics.

Role of Proteins in Fitness

Proteins play an important role in maintaining fitness in an individual. Protein nutrition helps to recover from heavy workouts. The carbohydrates play an important role during exercise and helps in recovery after exercise. Generally a protein intake of 0.8 g per kilogram of body weight is necessary for maintainting good health conditions.

Muscular Endurance

Muscular endurance is the ability to move your body or an object repeatedly without getting tired. For most activities, you use both muscular strength and endurance. Performing multiple repetitions of an exercise is a form of muscular endurance, as is running or swimming. If your muscles have to contract in a similar pattern more than one time you are using muscular endurance.
