Shein-Chung Chow, PhD. is a Professor of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, Duke University School of Medicine, Durham, North Carolina. Prior to joining Duke University, he was Executive Director of National Clinical Trial Network Coordination Center of Taiwan. Prior to that, Dr. Chow held various management positions in the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Chow is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Biopharmaceutical Statistics and the Editor-in-Chief of the Biostatistics Book Series at Chapman and Hall/CRC Press of Taylor & Francis Group. He was elected Fellow of the American Statistical Association in 1995. He was the recipient of the DIA Outstanding Service Award (1996), and ICSA Extraordinary Achievement Award (1996). Dr. Chow is the author or co-author of over 200 methodology papers and 20 books, which include Design and Analysis of Bioavailability and Bioequivalence Studies, Design and Analysis of Clinical Trials, Sample Size Calculations in Clinical Research, and Adaptive Design Methods in Clinical Trials.

The present research interest includes Cell Biology, Biochemistry, and Functional Morphology of Cell and Tissues: Endothelial cells, Smooth Muscle Cells; Neurons and as well as Glial and Macrophages Cells.

Specific characteristic changes of cell biochemical properties and morphology in different functional states; particularly atherogenesis, vascular remodeling, hypertension, ischemia/reperfusion, tumor angiogenesis, signal transduction and mitochondria DNA deletion and/or overproliferation during cancer growth, metastases and Alzheimer’s diseases; 
Regulation biochemical mechanisms of specific nitric oxide synthase (NOS) expression in endothelial and smooth muscle cells and macrophages in vivo and in vitro; 
 At the present time, my lab is investigating the cellular and subcellular ultrastructural and molecular mechanisms of the features in the changes of mitochondria (DNA deletion, Cytochrome C Oxidase activity, redox activity (Fe), as well as protein modification and oxidation (HNE) and RNA (8HOG) oxidation during normal aging, atherosclerosis, tumor angiogenesis, stroke, human AD and transgenic mouse models of AD by using molecular biology and functional and structural methods (e.g., in situ hybridization and immunocytochemistry techniques at the light and electron microscopic levels). In addition, the biochemical properties of these protein activities will also be considered for our future studies. 
One of our newer research interests focuses on investigating the interaction of nanoparticles with tissues and cells. We have recently developed ways to determine the biological effects of nanoparticles in vivo and in vitro by utilizing animal models of human diseases. Our goal is to not only elucidate the pathogenic mechanisms underlying the nanoparticleseffects, but to also discover potential new drug development strategies. For example, our ongoing "In vitro Cancer Cell Line as a Model for the Peptide based new Drug Development" study has so far showed promising results regarding the specific delivery of drugs to tumor tissues. In another of our in vivo studies, we have found that nanoparticles are able to cross the blood brain barrier (BBB), which has been the biggest impediment in delivering drugs to patients with Alzheimers disease. We are using classical biochemistry, cell biology, and morphology techniques in conjunction with more modern methods, such as SEM/TEM SED X-ray elemental analysis and NMR studies of protein structure and dynamics, macromolecular interactions, mechanistic enzymology, and computational analyses and modeling, in order to determine the exact nature of the relationship between the nanoparticles and the underlying tissue.

President Chen obtained PhD in 1999 at Kaohsiung Medical University. Currently teaches in Fooyin University, as most young is also the most senior professors and deans. The past 20 years, he has his scientific interests focused on life-threatening diseases, including traditional Chinese medicine used for cancer research. Analysis in recent year’s major active ingredients such as ginger, pepper and cinnamon used in gastrointestinal cancer, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiparasitic, and other topics. President Chen specializes in isolation, purification and structural analysis of active components of plants. President Chen directed against active constituents of oral cancer, liver cancer, and rectal cancer. He specialized in Taiwan study on the plants of the genus cinnamomum. Several keyword searches, such as: Cinnamomum, ranking first in the world. President Chen was just 45 years old, but his work has more than 200 papers, Taiwan one of the young talents. Professor Chen was invited more than 40 kinds of Journal editorial boards. Professor Chen won numerous awards at home and abroad, from 2015, was awarded the lifetime achievement award.

Dr. Chang-Guo Zhan is Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the College of Pharmacy, University of Kentucky. Dr. Zhan received a Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of Notre Dame and a Ph.D. in Science from Institute for Molecular Science (IMS), Japan. Dr. Zhan performed his postdoctoral research training as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Department of Medicine, Columbia University. Dr. Zhan joined the UK College of Pharmacy faculty as Associate Professor in July 2003 and was promoted to Professor in July 2007. Dr. Zhan was elected as Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) in 2010. Dr. Kamal is a Professor at King Fahd Medical Research Center, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Prof. Kamal’s overall biochemical research output had culminated in more than 115 publications in internationally respected journals, and 61 abstracts in international conferences. His research was pivotal in supporting the development of the novel anti-Alzheimer\\s agents from the laboratory to the clinic via collaboration with Dr Nigel H. Greig (Chief of Laboratory of Neurosciences in USA). ). He had migrated to Australia after an award of a prestigious U2000 Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2000 by the University of Sydney, School of Molecular and Microbial Biosciences. This three years highly competitive award funded his research on “Inhibition of amido phosphoribosyltransferase by new antifolates: Design and mechanism of action of purine antagonists". Prof. Kamal also collaborated in one of the molecular biological research project (Type 2 diabetic and Alzheimer’s disease) at the University of Technology Sydney.

Julián Alejandro Rojas Yunes undergraduate studies were in Biopharmaceutical Chemist (QFB) in 1999 and he did his Masters in Chemistry in the area of biochemistry and molecular biology in 2004. Later in 2011 he got PhD at the same institution, the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) in chemical sciences in the area of biochemistry and molecular biology. He liked the research and teaching, the latter led me to different institutions as part teacher, such as the Universidad Politécnica de Puebla, in 2005-2011 period; Universidad Tecmilenio, 2005-2011; Universidad Interamericana, in 2010-2011. Dr. Ramsinghani is actively engaged in research and grant-writing. She was the principal investigator of an NIH funded subproject to develop chemo-potentiating agents to enhance the effects of cancer therapy. She was a co-investigator in an NIH funded sub-project to synthesize thio-ether conjugates of MDMA (Ecstasy) in an attempt to understand how MDMA mediates its neuronal toxicity.  She was also a co-investigator on a breast cancer research project.

Dr. Yihua Bruce Yu is an Associate professor of Pharmaceutical sciences and Bioengineering at the University of Maryland. Prior to joining the University of Maryland, he was assistant professor at the University of Utah. He received his Ph.D. in molecular biophysics from the Johns Hopkins University and conducted postdoctoral work at the University of Alberta in peptide chemistry. Research in my lab has two main thrusts: biomaterials engineering and imaging technologies. In the biomaterials area, our current focus is the link between molecular chirality and material mechanical properties. We are also exploiting chirality to create biomaterials with novel mechanical properties for cell growth and differentiation. In the imaging area, we develop imaging agents for multi-color F-19 MRI. We are also working a MRI technology to evaluate the mechanical properties of soft materials and biological tissues.

Anthony White is an Associate Professor of Neuroscience in the Department of Pathology at the University of Melbourne in Australia , and Adjunct Professor of Translational Neurobiology at the A.I. Virtanen Institute for Molecular Sciences, Finland. His research focuses on the molecular pathways that lead to onset and progression of developmental and adult neurodegeneration. His research has led to the development of first-in-class metal-drugs as a new therapeutic approach to neurodegeneration. Development of user-friendly GUI interface for computer-aided drug discovery based on PyMOL.
Development of new computational tool CorLps allowing the simultaneous prediction of multiple interacting loop regions under the stabilizing impact of protein-bound ligands.
Development of a novel computational method Limoc to efficiently quantify protein-ligand binding, explicitly including the dynamics and flexibility of the protein.
Continuous development of a multiscale simulation method for significantly increasing the simulation length that is computationally accessible. The binding pocket is presented in full atomistic detail; the remainder of the protein-ligand complex by coarse-grained representation.
Development of protein modeling concept Raptor based on multidimensional QSAR. It may be the first QSAR method that explicitly simulates ligand-triggered induced fit of the protein, resulting in varying physicochemical fields along with it. The underlying scoring function includes directional terms for hydrogen bonding and treats solvation effects implicitly. This approach makes the Raptor concept independent of a partial-charge model and, as a consequence, allows the modeling of ligand molecules binding to the receptor with different net charges a general problem in molecular modeling.

He interned at Schering-Plough, and synthesized novel chemical templates for generating anti-inflammatory drug libraries.  He then joined the Medicinal Chemistry Department at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) as a Kirschstein-NRSA Postdoctoral Research Fellow (2004 - 2006).  His research at VCU involved rational design, synthesis and structural activity relationship (SAR) development of serotonin-6 receptor ligands for CNS disorders.Thereafter,  he joined the Roskamp Institute (2006) and laterits spin-off biotech Archer Pharmaceuticals Inc. He is part of the IBM BlueGene team who won the 2009 National Medal on Technology and Innovation. He has won the IBM Outstanding Technical Achievement Award (the highest technical award within IBM) in 2008 and 2005, IBM Research Division Award in 2005, Columbia University Hammett Award in 1997 (for best graduates), and American Chemical Society DEC Award on computational chemistry in 1995. Dr. Jose Medina-Franco is using computational approaches to boost the discovery of chemical compounds that have selected molecular interactions with anti-cancer targets in the search for new drug therapies. His group conducts computational screening of large compound databases to identify novel compounds directed to targets associated with the treatment of cancer, HIV/AIDS and other diseases. His laboratory also uses molecular modeling to help uncover the mechanism of action of biologically active compounds and guide the development of drug candidates. In close collaboration with chemists and biologists at TPIMS and research groups abroad, Dr. Medina-Franco’s group has identified novel and potent inhibitors of the enzymes DNA methyltransferase and protein kinase B. Biography :

Dr. Yusuf TUTAR is the Head of Biochemistry Division and the head of Basic Sciences Department at Faculty of Pharmacy, Cumhuriyet University, Sivas Turkey. Dr. Tutar is also the Head of Biomedical Engineering Program at the same university. He obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. at Oregon State University and Texas Tech University respectively. He pursued his postdoctoral study at National Institutes of Health (NIH/NIDDK), USA. His research focuses on Biochemistry, Biophysics, Genetics and Molecular Biology with specialization in the fields of protein structure-function, protein folding, prion, microrna, pseudogenes, molecular cancer, proteomics, genomics, protein expression and characterization by spectroscopic and calorimetric methods.

Investigating structure-function relationship of biological macromolecules with biochemical, biophysical, genetics and molecular biological methods. Recombinant DNA technology, molecular sub-cloning, transformation and protein expression.
Protein purification (Heat shock, Catabolite repressor ve S100P proteins) and characterisation (Spectroscopy: Fluorescence, Luminescence, CD, FTIR; Calorimetry: NanoDSC and ITC; Chromatography: HPLC and FPLC; Other techniques: MALDI-TOF, GC).
Molecular Cancer Research (Prostate, thyroid, renal, colon) and epigenetic (RT-PCR and Microarray). • MicroRNA, pseudogens and transfection.
Prion, translation termination in eukaryotes, and transcription initiation in prokaryotes.

Biography :

Catarina Pinto Reis is currently Professor of Pharmaceutical Technology and Drug Delivery in the Faculty of Sciences and Health Technologies at the Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias (Lisbon, Portugal) and a consultant for the National Authority of Medicines and Health Products (INFARMED). She attended the University of Coimbra (Coimbra, Portugal) and graduated with First Class Honours in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Her doctoral studies were also undertaken at the University of Coimbra with several important international collaborations where she developed an interest in advanced drug delivery systems. Those studies have been recognized through a number of national prizes. She finished her PhD in Pharmacy in 2008 as Distinguished Honor Graduate. Since then, she has continued to work in the design and evaluation of nanoparticles and microparticles for peptide drug and gene delivery. She is author or co-author of several articles, book chapters and inventor of 2 patents.

Carla Martins Lopes graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Oporto University, Portugal (2001). She received her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Technology from the same institution (2006). The main scientific area of her Ph.D. was related to modulate the release profile of bioactive compounds. Currently, her research interest has also been involved the application of different micro and nanocarriers in pharmaceutical and cosmetic fields. At the present, Carla Martins Lopes is an Assistant Professor, Member of Scientific Committee and Co-validations Committee at the Faculty of Health Science of Fernando Pessoa University. She is a researcher at the Institute of Genetics and Biotechnology/Centre of Genetics and Biotechnology-University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (CGB-UTAD/IBB). She is a member of Editorial Board of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and Novel Science International Journal. She is a referee of several articles in international scientific periodicals.

Dr. Vukoman Jokanovic was born on born 2 may 1949 in Trsa, Pluzine, Montenegro.In 1972, he obtained the degree of graduated physicochemist at Department of Physical Chemistry on the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Belgrade University, Serbia.In 1981, he got the degree of Master Sciences at Center of Multidisciplinary Studies at Belgrade University, Serbia.In 1988,. he was awarded PhD in Materials Sciences and Engineering at Center of Multidisciplinary Studies at Belgrade University, Serbia.From1972-1982 he worked as a Research assistant in Department of Ceramics and Refractory Materials at Metalurgical Institute in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina.From 1982-1989 he was a Research Fellow and Higher Research Fellow in Department of Ceramics and Refractory Materials at Metalurgical Institute in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. From 1989-1991 he was a University professor for subjects: Technical ceramics and Refractory Materials and Powder metallurgy in Faculty of Metallurgy in in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. From 1991-2000 he was a Higher Research Fellow in Department of Ceramics and Composite Materials of Institute for Technology of Nuclear and Other Row Materials in Belgrade, Serbia. From 2000-2002, he was a General manager and founder of small company named ALBOS for manufacturing carbon bonded ceramic materials, Belgrade, Serbia. From 2002-2005, he was a Research Professor in Department of Materials Sciences and Engineering in Technical Institute of Serbian Academy of Science and Arts, Belgrade, Serbia. From 2005-today he is a Reserach Professor in Laboratory of Radiation Physics and Chemistry and Laboratory of Atomic physic in Institute of Nuclear Sciences Vinca and University professor in subject of Applied Chemistry and Advanced spectroscopical methods for characterization of composite materials, Belgrade, Serbia.

Molecular modeling of newly synthesized compounds with possible anticancer or other activ-ity with the aid of computational chemistry, quantum-chemical computations, docking techniques and molecular dynamics (computer-aided drug design) application on bioin-formatics techniques, aiming to the discovery and rational design of new anticancer drugs.

Dr. Purohit obtained his Bachelor in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from BRN College of Pharmacy and Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Bioinforamtics from Indian Institute of Information Technology - Allahabad, India. He went on to obtain his doctoral degree in Bioinformatics from the Vellore Institute of Technology, University, Vellore, and followed it with postdoctoral research experience at the University di Torino, Torino, Italy. Presently he is an Assistant Professor (Senior) at Bioinformatics Division, Vellore Institute of Technology, University, Vellore, Tamilnadu, India. In the past few years he have been working in the field of computational chemistry, computational biology, structure-based drug design, bioinformatics, and molecular modeling, to develop pharmaceutical agent to treat various human diseases. He has authored several articles and is a holder of editorial position in several peer reviewed scientific journals.

Dr. Mustafa Nazıroğlu has received his PhD (Physiology) in Fırat University during the period of 1992-1996. Currently, he is working as Head of Department of Biophysics in Suleyman Demirel University (SDU), Medical Faculty. He has successfully completed his administrative responsibilities as Head of department, Head of Congress organization committee, director of Neuroscience Research Center in SDU. As chair of congress, he organized 1st, 2nd and 3th biennale International Congress in Cell Membrane and Oxidative Stress: Focus on Calcium Signaling and TRP channels between 2006-2010, Isparta, Turkey. He is also serving in organization committee of TEMA-14 Congress (2011), Hubei, Chine. He is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals like ‘Biological Trace Element Research’, ‘Cell Membranes and Free Radical Research, ‘Turkish Journal of Medical Sciences’. He is also review editor in Frontiers in Membrane Physiology and Biophysics. He authored 125 international research articles and 1223 citation in SCI and 5 international book chapters. He is a member of Cell Membranes and Free Radical Society (Head of the society), Turkish Physiological Society and International Brain Research Organization (IBRO). He has honored as ‘Young Investigative Scientist Award (2001), UC-Berkeley, USA, Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Research fellowship owner (2002-2005), RWTH-Aachen, Germany, Encouragement Award of Scientific and Tech. His Research interest are: 1) Design and Synthesis of Pro-prodrug Systems to be used for the Delivery of Certain Drugs that have Poor Water Solubility or/and have Low Bioavailability Using Ab initio, DFT, Semiempirical, Molecular Mechanics as well as Molecular Dynamics and Conformational Dynamics Methods. 2) Design and Synthesis of Bitter Taste Antagonists.3) Design and synthesis of prodrugs for masking bitter taste of drugs. Dr. Karaman is a Lead Guest Editor of special issue in International Journal of Organic chemistry & honorary editorial board of Orphan Drugs: Research and Reviews. He is a Referee for more than 10 peer reviewed international journals.
