Dr. Michael is currently being employed as Associate Professor in School if Business at University of Redlands. After having completed his MBA from California State Polytechnic University, Dr. Michael pursued his Ed.D. from University of LaVerne in 2008. Prior to this, he was appointed as Adjunct Professor of Accounting at Chaffey College. Because of his dedicate work and experience he was honoured with various prestigious awards like Speaker of the Year, 2006 by American Payroll Association. He was also the Vice President for Financial Audit & Tax Officer at financial institution. He is currently working on his doctoral dissertation which includes exploring ways to improve effectiveness of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. This is the landmark legislation passed shortly after the collapse of Enron and WorldCom designed to improve financial reprting. Biography :

Abu Shiraz Rahaman is an Associate Professor of Accounting in the Haskayne School of Business, a position he has held since January 2002.   He earned his B.Sc. Administration (Accounting) from the University of Ghana and then pursued graduate studies at the University of Waikato (New Zealand) where he earned a Master of Management Studies and PhD in Accounting.  Dr Rahaman also holds the CPA (Australia) and CGA (Alberta) designations.  He held academic positions at the University of New England (Australia) and the University of Otago (New Zealand) for a combined period of almost five years prior to joining the Haskayne School of Business.
Abu currently teaches cost and managerial accounting to undergraduate students as well as courses at the MBA level.  Abu has also co-taught accounting courses to our PhD students.  His particular areas of research include an interdisciplinary analysis of accounting, the role of accounting in the management of public sector organizations, and the processes of diffusing accounting and financial practices by supranational bodies.
Dr Rahaman’s research has been published in such journals as Accounting, Organizations and Society; Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal; and Critical Perspectives on Accounting, among others.  He has won a number of teaching and research awards including the Students’ Union Teaching Excellence Award (2007), and Emerald “High Commendation Award” for his article published in Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal (2008).
Abu serves on the editorial board of Research in Accounting in Emerging Economies and serves as an ad hoc reviewer for a number of journals.  He spends his spare time mostly with his family.

Professor BenDaniel holds degrees in physics and engineering. He has been a visiting fellow at Harvard′s Graduate School of Business Administration. Dayle Smith, former Associate Dean and current Professor of Management and Organization at the University of San Francisco, has been on the faculty for the last 20 years, teaching in undergraduate, executive MBA, and the Global Entrepreneur and Management program. Her 25 books and numerous articles cover a breadth of management topics .Smith directs the Business Honors Program, and has taught internationally in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Indonesia, and Thailand. Chris graduated in Law from University College Cardiff in 1977 and qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales  in 1980 dealing in general commercial matters.. He moved into academia in 1990.  Chris has been Chair of the UK Association of Law Teachers and is a long standing  Quality Assurance Agency  reviewer.   He is an external examiner at a number of institutions . He  served as Secretary/Treasurer to the Committee of Heads of University Law Schools from 2009 to 2012 and is currently Vice Chair.

Peter Hiscocks has spent a number of years in the private sector working in product development in large companies before starting his own businesses. Peter has founded eight new ventures of which three have been sold, one has closed and he is Chairman or Director of the others. These businesses include Integral Inc - a $50 million consulting company; Ecurie25 Ltd - a supercar club; and Pod Point Ltd - an EV recharging business. Jeremy Berkowitz is an Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Houston’s Bauer College of Business. Prior to this position, he was a Professor in the Graduate School of Management at the University of California at Irvine and an Economist at Federal Reserve Board
in the Trading Risk section.
His research interests include risk management, banking and financial econometrics. Current research projects include empirical research into the banking crisis of 2008, estimating liquidity risk, backtesting and the statistical testing of market risk measures.

Steven Mednick is an expert in entrepreneurial start-ups, complex sales and the angel funding process. He has over 25 years experience working with early stage ventures to large, complex global enterprises in the areas of corporate ventures, business development, sales leadership and corporate law. During the “dot.com” era, he established the corporate ventures office for Silicon Graphics, Inc. in Mountain View, CA, where he led its global strategic M & A and alliances initiative. His article, "Bootstrapping Your Business, Get Real Get Started", is used at numerous universities, and he is a frequent contributor to a number of major business publications. Professor Mednick currently teaches in the Marshall MBA, EMBA and Masters of Medical Management programs and is a two-time winner of the Marshall Golden Apple Award. Dr. Pinar Ozcan is an Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at Warwick Business School and Visiting Scholar at London Business School. She specializes in strategy, entrepreneurship, and the emergence of new technology markets. Dr. Ozcan completed her Ph.D. at the Stanford Technology Ventures Program (STVP) at the Stanford University Management Science and Engineering Department, and also holds a Master of Science and dual Bachelors degrees from Stanford.
At Stanford, Dr. Ozcan directed the AEA Stanford Executive Institute, a summer executive program for the high tech industry for three consecutive years. She also organized the Stanford Entrepreneurship Thought Leaders Seminar for young entrepreneurs, and helped create the STVP Entrepreneurship Educators Project for entrepreneurship educators worldwide. Dr. Ozcan serves as full faculty at the National Arts Strategies Executive Program on Creative Alliances since 2004.
In the past few years, Dr. Ozcan has received the Excellence in Research Award at IESE, the EFMD Best Teaching Case Award, the IDEA Entrepreneurship Thought Leader Award, and a Best Paper Nomination at the Academy of Management Journal. She also serves as the Representative at Large for the Entrepreneurship Division of the Strategic Management Society since 2010. Dr. Ozcan’s work experience includes management consulting at Siemens Corporation in Munich, Germany, and strategy consulting with technology ventures and venture capital firms in the Silicon Valley. Mirella Minkman was born in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, on February 15, 1975. In 1993, she graduated from secondary school (Atheneum) at Merlet College in Cuijk. From 1993 to 1997, she studied Nursing at the HAN University of Applied Sciences in Nijmegen, where she graduated in 1997 with a Bachelors graduation paper about the role of nurses in the organization of care. In 1997, she started working as a nurse in the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Center on the departments ophthalmology and neurosurgery/plastic surgery. She was project leader of a number of quality improvement projects on her department. At the same time (1997), she started to study Health Sciences, Health care Policy and Management at the Maastricht University. In the year 2000, she graduated with a Master’s dissertation on professional knowledge for Quality management systems.After her graduation in 2000, she started working at the Dutch Institute for Healthcare Improvement CBO in Utrecht as a junior consultant, till 2007 (senior consultant). During her time at CBO she worked on and lead multiple quality improvement projects in hospitals (Advanced access, process improvement), worked with medical specialists (INK-based auditing for radiologists, visitation) and lead collaborative Breakthrough Improvement projects (Emergency Departments, Acute and integrated stroke care) and integrated care projects (Stroke, National Dementia Program). She was the leader of the Innovation team for Integrated care and performed multiple presentations, publications and courses on integrated care and change management. She was (first) author of three books about quality improvement in healthcare and long term care and first author of the books ‘The best care for stroke patients’ (2005) and Sustaining continuous improvement. Successful improvement in long term care’(2011).Currently, she works at Vilans since 2007, the National Center for Excellence in long term care. She is the head of the program Quality and Innovation in Elderly Care and the coordinator of the Care for Better program. Since 2005, she started working on her Phd on Integrated Care. She is also (since 2005) member of the Supervisory Board of Zorgcentra de Betuwe (area of attention health care policy, quality of care and employment of the CEO), a foundation for care for the Elderly in the region Betuwe.
