 Biography
Research Interest :

The focus on my laboratory is in investigating the role of the ubiquitin proteasome system in common cardiac and vascular diseases such as heart failure, ischemic heart disease and atherosclerosis.  We have discovered that specific E3 ubiquitin ligases, which tag specific proteins for degradation, interact with a host of intracellular signaling pathways that regulate cardiovascular metabolism and muscle mass in ways that are cardioprotective in disease models in vivo.  We are currently developing ways to regulate these ubiquitin ligases for therapeutic use in pre-clinical models.
