Biography :

Professor Narsingh Deo holds Charles Millican Eminent Scholar’s Chair in Computer Science at University of Central Florida, Orlando. Earlier, he was Professor of Computer Science at Washington State University, and department chair. Before that he was a Professor of EECS at IIT, Kanpur, and a Member of Technical Staff at Jet Propulsion Laboratory. His Ph.D.(EE) is from Northwestern University.
Dr. Deo has held Visiting Professorships at several institutions--including University of Illinois, Urbana; University of Nebraska, Lincoln; Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore; IBM is T. J. Watson Research Center; ETH, Zurich; Oak Ridge National Lab., Australian National University, and Chuo University, Tokyo.
A Fellow of IEEE, ACM, AAAS, he has authored four graduate-level textbooks and over 250 refereed research papers. He holds several patents in computer hardware. Among his numerous awards and honors are NASA  Apollo Achievement Award (1969) and Governor Award for Outstanding Contribution to High Tech Research in Florida (1989).

Biography :

I graduated with a Ph.D. in 2011 from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at UC, Berkeley. My graduate advisor was Professor Sanjit Seshia, and my thesis committee consisted of Professor Claire Tomlin and Professor Dorit Hochbaum. Before Berkeley, I spent four lovely years (2002-2006) at IIT Kharagpur (the oldest of all IITs) doing my undergrad in Computer Science and Engineering.

Dr. Muppala received the Ph. D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Duke University, Durham, NC in 1991, the M. S. degree in Computer Engineering from The Center for Advanced Computer Studies,University of Southwestern Louisiana (now University of Louisiana at Lafayette), Lafayette, LA in 1987 and the B. E. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India in 1985. He is currently an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering,The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Clear Water Bay, Kowloon, Hong Kong. He was previously a Member of the Technical Staff at Software Productivity Consortium (Herndon, Virginia, USA) from 1991 to 1992, where he was involved in the development of modeling techniques for systems and software. While at Duke University, he participated in the development of two modeling tools, the Stochastic Petri Net Package (SPNP) and the symbolic Hierarchical Automated Reliability and Performance Evaluator (SHARPE), both of which are being used in several universities and industry in the USA. Biography :

Mostafa A. Bassiouni received his BSc and MSc degrees in Computer Science from Alexandria University and received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the Pennsylvania State University in 1982. He is currently a professor of Computer Science at the University of Central Florida, Orlando. His research interests include computer networks, distributed systems, real-time protocols and concurrency control. He has authored and coauthored 180 papers published in various computer journals, book chapters and conference proceedings. His research has been supported by grants from ARO, ARPA, NSF, STRICOM, PM-TRADE, CBIS, Harris, and the State of Florida. He is an Associate Editor of the Computer Journal- Oxford University Press and an Editorial Board Member of three other journals. He has served as member of the program committee of several conferences, as the program committee chair of CSMA 2000 and as the guest co-editor of a special issue of the Journal of Simulation Practice and Theory, 2002.

Biography :

Adam Krzyzak received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in computer engineering from the Technical University of Wroc law, Poland, in 1977 and 1980, respectively, and D.Sc. degree (habilitation) in computer engineering from the Warsaw University of Technology, Poland in 1998. In 2003 he received the Title of Professor from the President of the Republic of Poland. Since 1983, he has been with the Department of Computer Science, Concordia University, Montreal, Canada, where he is currently a Professor. In 1983, he held International Scienti c Exchange Award in the School of Computer Science, McGill University, Montreal, Canada, in 1991, Vineberg Memorial Fellowship at Technion{Israel Institute of Technology and, in 1992, Humboldt Research Fellowship at the University of Erlangen-Nurnberg, Germany. He visited the University of California Irvine, Information Systems Laboratory at Stanford University, Riken Frontiers Research Laboratory, Japan, Stuttgart University, Technical University of Berlin, University of Saarlandes and Technical University Darmstadt. He published over 200 papers on neural networks, pattern recognition, image processing, computer vision, control and nonparametric estimation. He has been an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and IEEE Transactions on Information Theory and is presently a member of the editorial board of Pattern Recogni- tion Journal, International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science and Journal of Neural, Parallel and Scienti c Computations. He was co-editor of the book Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (Singapore: World Scienti c, 1989) and is co-author of the book A Distribution-Free Theory of Nonparametric Regression, Springer-Verlag, 2002. He has served among others on on the program committees of Vision Interface Conference, International Conference on Document Processing and Applications, and International Conference on Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition and Image Processing and International Conference on Pattern Recognition. He coorganized a workshop at NIPS 94 Conference and was a session organizer at The World Congress of Nonlinear Analysts in 2000, 2004 and 2008. He is a Fellow of the IEEE.

Biography :

Maryline Chetto was born in 1959 at Illiers, France. She received her M. Sc. Degree in automatic control, the Ph. D. Degree in computer science, and the HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) from the University of Nantes, France, respectively in 1982, 1984, and 1993. She is currently professor at the University of Nantes in the Institute of Technology, namely IUT de Nantes. Her research is conducted in the Group of Real-Time Systems of the Research Institute of Communications and Cybernetics (IRCCyN). Prof. Chetto has been the leader of a French national R&D project, namely Cleopatre, supported by the French government, which aims to provide free open source real-time solutions. Prof. Chetto has published more than 70 journal articles and conference papers in the area of real-time operating systems.

Ibrahim M. M. El Emary received the Dr. Eng. Degree in 1998 from the Electronic and Communication Department, Faculty of Engineering, Ain shams University, Egypt. From 1998 to 2002, he was an Assistant Professor of Computer sciences in different faculties and academic institutionss in Egypt. From 2002 to 2010, he worked as visiting Assis. Mainly, I’m engaged in analyzing and studying various approaches that are used in optimizing the performance of LANs which use CSMA protocols specially in view point of: routing, addressing, sub netting, congestion control and flow control, Error control and recovery. In addition to this, I search in a new trend covers the application of AI and expert systems in managing the various computer communication networks as: real time communication networks, High speed local networks, and integrated service digital networks. Currently, I work depthly in evaluating the performance of ATM and frame relay network.. Ivan Rodero is currently Research Associate at the Center for Autonomic Computing at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey.
