Biography :

Dr. Youngjin Park graduated from School of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Toho University in 1986. He got Medicine in 1993 and is studying in clinical diagnosis and therapy of breast cancer.
He is currently Associate Professor (Breast Surgery) of Department of Surgery, Sakura Medical Center, School of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Toho University in 2009 to present.
He has published many peer-reviewed papers (mainly, English) and has served on the editorial board member and reviewer of several reputed journals in the research field of cancer (especially, breast cancer).

Biography :

Dr. Mukohara is currently an Associate Professor in Division of Medical Oncology/Hematology and Cancer Center, Kobe University Hospital, Japan, since 2008. He received M.D. from Osaka City University (OCU) in 1997. He then completed residency in Osaka City General Hospital and Oncology/Pulmonology fellowship in OCU Hospital. In 2002, Dr. Mukohara moved to Dana Farber Cancer Institute as a post-doctoral fellow and worked on experimental cancer therapeutics. In 2008, he took an appointment as a staff physician in Division of Oncology/Hematology, National Cancer Hospital East, Japan, where he served as a general oncologist mainly taking care of breast and other women’s cancers. He received D.Md.Sc degree from OCU in 2011. Today, he mainly sees breast cancer patients in clinic, and his research interest is focused on development of individualized molecularly targeted therapy. Dr. Mukohara also has been serving as a core member of Japan TeamOncology Program (J-TOP) since 2009.

Biography :

Dr. Hiroyuki Takei graduated from Jichi Medical School, Japan, and received M.D. in 1986. He completed his surgical residency training in 1990 at Gunma University Hospital and its affiliated hospitals. He then completed his surgical oncology fellowship in 1994 at Gunma University School of Medicine. He was an Assistant Professor of Surgery, Gunma University School of Medicine between 1994 and 2001. He is currently the chief of Division of Breast Surgery, Saitama Cancer Center, Japan. He was a research fellow of Prof. V. Craig Jordan in Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center, Northwestern University Medical School between 1997 and 1998. He received the Young Investigator Award of The Japanese Breast Cancer Society in 2001. His clinical activities are focused on the diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases. He serves as a director of Japan Comprehensive Cancer Network Breast and Saitama Breast Cancer Clinical Study Group. He is a member of American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Biography :

She has worked in various Asia-Pacific countries on complex population health issues. She continues to work in the area of gender, reproductive health, reproductive rights, gender-based violence, health and development, and determinants of health.
She has been working with immigrant women’s health research in Australia for several years. She has also worked in comparative public and social policy, education and multi-media projects; and with the Australian Public Sector on primary health care and health services policy development. She joined MCHR in September 2007 under the COMPASS program to continue her work with immigrant and refugee women’s health.

Biography :

Dr. Ekaterine Tskitishvili graduated from Tbilisi State Medical University (Faculty of General Medicine) in Georgia and received her M.D. in 1995. She completed her internship and residency programs at the State Scientific-Research Institute of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology in Tbilisi and worked as an Obstetrician-Gynecologist in Georgia until 2003. Upon receiving the Japanese Government Scholarship, she attended the Perinatology Group at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine in Japan in 2003. Dr. E. Tskitishvili received her Ph.D. in Medical Sciences from Osaka University in 2008 and rejoined the same team as a fellow of the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS).  In 2010 she was invited to join the Laboratory of Development Biology and Tumors at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology/Department of Clinical Sciences of the University of Liege in Belgium, where she currently holds a position of the Postdoctoral researcher.

Biography :

Dr. Abu-Khalaf received her medical degree from the Jordan University School of Medicine in Amman, Jordan in 1995. She completed her Internal Medicine residency training in 2001 at the Norwalk Hospital-Yale University Program in Connecticut. She then completed her Medical Oncology fellowship training in 2005 at the Yale University School of Medicine. Dr Abu-Khalaf was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine and the Yale Comprehensive Cancer Center between 2005 and 2011. She is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine and serves as the Director of Developmental Therapeutics and Early Phase Clinical Trials Program for Gynecologic Malignancies. Her clinical activities and research interests are focused on the treatment of Breast and Gynecologic Cancers and the development of novel therapies for the treatments of these cancers. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Gynecology Oncology Group and Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group.

Biography :

I was born in Edlep, Syria in 1977, then I travelled with my parents to Saudi Arabia, where I received my elementary education. I went back to Syria 1985 to complete there my secondary education and to begin in 1994 my collage medical study at Aleppo university. I graduated with appreciation of excellent and ranked 2nd of all graduates in 2000 to start immediately my training for specialization of obstetrics and gynaecology in Aleppo university hospital of obstetrics and gynaecology, which I could fulfil in 2005 gaining a master degree of obstetric and gynaecology  and ranking 1st of all graduates.  Between 2005 and June 2008, I worked as an assistant lecturer  and a consultant at Aleppo university hospital of obstetrics and gynaecology. During this time I became interested in gynaecological oncology. After receiving a scholarship from Syrian ministry of higher education I could proceed my sub-specialization in this field in Germany, first by professor du Bois at Dr. Horst Schmidt Kliniken in Wiesbaden und then by professor Sehouli at Charité/Campus Virchow-Klinikum, University Medicine of Berlin, where I am working now as a consultant for gyn. Oncology and a specialist in laparoscopic techniques of ontological operations.

Biography :

Felice Petraglia is Professor and Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Siena (Siena, Italy). Since 2004 he is an Adjunct Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at University of Toronto (Toronto, Canada).

His major scientific interest is devoted to women’s heath. He has been a pioneer in the exploration of the role of neuroendocrine peptides and growth factors in placental-fetal unit, and is currently investigating the role of these molecules in the molecular mechanisms of endocrine-dependent reproductive disorders (endometriosis, uterine fibromata, PCOS).

He was President of the Society for Gynecologic Investigation (SGI) (2008-2009) and served as a member of the Council (2003 – 2006). He is Fellow ad Eundem  of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), member of the Executive Board of the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO), and of the Executive Committee of the International Society of Gynecological Endocrinology (ISGE) .

He has received recognition for his accomplishments, including an International Award “Arnaldo Bruno” from the Accademia dei Lincei (2001).

He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Endometriosis, and is Associate Editor of Reproductive Sciences and of the Journal of Endocrinological Investigation; Faculty Advisory Board of the Faculty of 1000 Medicine website (Section Head in Reproductive Endocrinology) . Starting from January 1, 2013 he will be Editor-in-Chief of Human Reproduction Update. Author or co-author of more than 550 peer reviewed papers in International Scientific Journals (Impact Factor  total = 1904 - Hirsch Index =57 ) and co-editor of 25 scientific volumes.
