PhD student at Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Technology, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto, Porto, Portugal, since 2007, with the project entitled “Solid lipid nanoparticles (SLN) for oral delivery of risperidone” (writing final thesis). Studied Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Fernando Pessoa, Portugal (2000-2006). Undergraduate studies in Industrial Chemistry, Faculty of Sciences, University of Coimbra, Portugal (1996-2000). Best student award of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Fernando Pessoa, Portugal (2006). She is the first author and co-author of several scientific papers published in international and national journals, and also of proceedings and abstracts presented in international and national conferences.

Research Interest

1. Oral and topical drug delivery by means of lipid nanoparticles. 2. Nanotoxicology: the potential toxicity of lipid nanoparticles (cell culture and animal studies). 3. Improve drug delivery by means of new nanosystems. 4. In vitro correlations for drug delivery from lipid nanoparticles in simulated gastric medium vs cell culture models (Caco-2 cell lines). Modelling their in vitro kinetic profiles.
